Natural Environment Research Council

NERC is the UK's largest funder of independent environmental science, training and innovation. 3ADAPT have worked with NERC on various activities to help ‘embed sustainability in everything they do’ and develop a ‘Responsibility Framework’ to underpin their operations and research investments. The work also considered NERC's goals in the context of UKRI's Environmental Sustainability Strategy and commitment to Net Zero by 2040. Our work has also included supporting NERC's Strategic Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) Plan, conducting training on sustainability topics, and developing an internal engagement and communication plan. National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) Decarbonisation Strategy

3ADAPT have been working in partnership with NCAS since June 2022 to develop a carbon baseline, set targets to reduce their emissions and develop a range of decarbonisation pathways. With over 200 staff embedded at 12 universities and running specialised facilities including a research aircraft, atmospheric observatories and a wind tunnel, the process has required a bespoke approach to capture the unique operations of the organisation… Read More.

English Heritage Decarbonisation Strategy

3ADAPT were commissioned to assess the carbon footprint of English Heritage and then consider possible pathways to achieve zero carbon. With over 400 wide-ranging sites including Stonehenge that has over 1.5 million visitors annually, to disparate rural landmarks with no formal infrastructure, a bespoke approach was required to accommodate the diversity and complex operations of the organisation. In late 2020, Victoria and Albert Museum commissioned 3ADAPT to develop a net zero carbon target and a range of decarbonisation pathways to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2035. Read more…

We are supporting organisations to set rigorous carbon reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. CORNWALL ENERGY ISLAND CORNWALL, UK

Collaborated with public, private and community sectors to develop an action plan to transition to a low carbon energy system to deliver local economic and social benefit. This led to a range of commissions including the development of an evidence base for Cornwall Council as part of a whole area approach to delivering sustainable energy infrastructure across the region.
